1L good quality apple juice
1 vanilla bean, cut length ways
2 cinnamon sticks
- Peel the pears. 2kg should be about 14 pears
- Place in single layer in large saucepan
- Pour on the apple juice, and add the vanilla and cinnamon
- Cook with the lid off on a low heat for 1 hour, allowing the apple juice to reduce and become thicker.
- Serve with fresh cream or cultured cream
